About Carol

A physiotherapist and certified structural-integration practitioner who treats the whole person, not a single symptom.

Carol Dunlop trained in physiotherapy at Tufts University before becoming a Certified Rolfer through the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado. Over more than 40 years she has practised across New York, London, Sydney, Cape Town and Kenya — combining Rolfing, craniosacral therapy and visceral manipulation into one integrated approach.

Her philosophy is simple: blending several gentle manual therapies often achieves far more than any one alone. Rather than narrowing into a single modality, she has broadened her craft to help each client move with greater ease, comfort and freedom.

The approach

"Rolfing brings order to the body's structure, so it can move freely in harmony with gravity."

Rolfing® Structural Integration is a system of hands-on bodywork and movement education developed by Dr Ida Rolf. It works with the body's connective tissue — the fascia — which responds to slow, warm, directed pressure by softening and realigning around a more balanced, vertical line.

It is, above all, an educational process. As old patterns of tension release, the body re-learns easier ways to stand, sit and move. Most people work through a classic ten-session series; the results are not only lasting but tend to keep improving over time.

Rolfing is not a substitute for medical treatment and does not diagnose or prescribe. Its purpose is to restore structure — and with it, comfortable, efficient movement.

What it helps

Benefits you can feel

Results vary from person to person, but clients commonly notice meaningful change as the body returns to balance.

Better posture

The body re-aligns toward an upright, supported balance instead of collapsing against gravity.

~

Less chronic pain

Long-held tension and aches — especially low-back pain — ease as restrictions release.

Greater flexibility

Freer fascia and joints mean a wider, more comfortable range of movement.

Easier movement

Daily tasks and athletic performance feel lighter as energy is no longer spent holding strain.

+

More energy

When the body stops fighting to stay upright, many people feel lighter, freer and more vital.

Calm & clarity

Releasing stored physical tension often brings a quiet sense of ease and steadiness.
